Community Contribution: “Born to Survive” by Keith Byrne
“In the 15 years of Tomb Raider, one thing has always been certain; Lara Croft is a survivor. She will always triumph, even when all the odds are stacked against her and so many have failed before her. The caves shown in the demo appear to be one of the most dangerous and frightening locations in Tomb Raider history. Lara is alone, with nothing but a flame to help her navigate the dark, narrow tunnels, littered with the bones and bodies of those unfortunate enough to be there. Lara, however, will not be just another victim. Her courage knows no boundaries. She was born to survive.” – Keith Byrne
About Keith Byrne: Keith Byrne is a 20-year-old aspiring artist. No stranger to ancient ruins, he was born and raised in Glendalough, Ireland. After studying art for a year Keith moved on to English, Culture and Media studies in the Institute of Art, Design, and Technology in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin where he is currently in his second year.
Keith was first introduced to Tomb Raider in 1996 at five years old and has been an avid fan of the series ever since. Lara Croft has often been the focus of Keith’s work. A little over a decade ago, Keith bought a Tomb Raider comic where he first saw Andy Park’s work. The illustrations had a profound effect on Keith and to this day, he still cites Park as his biggest artistic inspiration. Keith aspires to one day write and illustrate his own Tomb Raider fan-comic.
