Lara Croft’s original in-game model consisted of just 250 polygons, a technical limitation that dictated her design. To stay within the polygon count that could be displayed at one time, changes had to be made to her hair. Unlike in the FMVs, where she sported her iconic braid, the in-game model featured Lara's hair tucked into a bun at the nape of her neck. This adjustment helped manage the polygon count while maintaining her recognizable appearance. Lara's low-poly bun is seen only in the original Tomb Raider, giving her a unique look.
